Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
• 4-5 years relevant experience in information security, risk management, or related fields in a DoD or Military Services related environment.
• Working knowledge and familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policy, requirements, and CUI handling.
• Currently hold or have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and guidelines for the organization.
• Work collaboratively with campus units including legal, compliance, research security & export control, central IT and unit IT.
• Track project and administrative compliance with security standards and report deficiencies.
• Coordinate campus units to establish compliant physical and compute/network environments for projects.
• Collaborate with similar professionals at other institutions and vendors.
• Communicate security requirements, risks, and recommendations effectively.
• Identify and assess risks related to information systems, networks, and data.
• Organize regular security audits and vulnerability assessments with relevant groups.
• Share audit results and create improvement plans with campus units.
• Evaluate effectiveness of security controls and recommend improvements.
• Assist in incident response planning and investigation with relevant teams.
• Define access control policies and ensure secure facilities when required.
• Provide security awareness training and maintain records for compliance.
• Stay informed about regulatory changes and assist in maintaining DoD, HIPAA, NIST-based requirements.
• Duties/Responsibilities: Focus on policy development, risk management, access control, training, and continuous improvement.
