Job summary

The University of Georgia in Athens seeks an IT Security Analyst II to safeguard DoD/CUI environments and lead security policy development. You will manage security plans, training, risk assessments, and incident response in coordination with EITS and campus units.

Ideal candidates have a BS in a related field, 2+ years of security experience (4–5 preferred in DoD settings), and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; 2+ years of professional experience.
• 4–5 years relevant DoD/USG security experience preferred.
• Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policy, CUI handling, and security control frameworks.
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain information security policies, procedures, and guidelines.
• Coordinate with campus units (legal, compliance, EITS) to ensure security alignment.
• Lead risk assessments, audits, and incident response planning.
• Collaborate with external partners and vendors on security requirements and improvements.
• Communicate security risks and recommendations to management.
