Job summary

Georgia Tech is seeking an Information Systems Security Officer to manage operational information security, monitor systems for vulnerabilities, and guide researchers and staff on security best practices. You will participate in patching, audits, and incident response, while advancing policy implementations and staff training.

The role requires at least an associate degree and 2+ years of experience, with a preference for TS/SCI clearance and SAP experience.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• Two or more years of relevant security experience.
• TS/SCI clearance with SAPs preferred.
• Familiarity with NISPOM, JSIG, NIST RMF.
• Experience with RMF controls and government systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor information systems and network activities to detect and respond to security breaches and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with the IT team to apply security patches and updates to systems and applications.
• Assist in the development and implementation of information security policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to evaluate security measures.
• Provide guidance to staff regarding information security practices and incident reporting.
• Investigate security incidents and document findings to inform policy improvements.
• Train employees on information security awareness and best practices.
