Job summary

C Spire is seeking a Research Intern for a Summer 2026 program at our Ridgeland, MS corporate office. You will support wireless, fiber, and emerging tech research, exploring innovations and contributing insights to guide technology strategy.

Ideal candidates are curious, adaptable, and eager to work in a fast-paced research environment, with strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment with good standing at a college or university.
• At least 12 credit hours in computer technology, mathematics, physics or engineering.
• Housing in the Jackson, MS metro area (special consideration).
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

This position is for a Summer Internship in 2026, located at our Corporate office in Ridgeland, MS.

Responsibilities:

What You Will Do In all of your duties, you will have a relentless, obsessive, yet disciplined approach to manage all details to perfection and deliver desired results.

• Provide research and support to the designated department.
• Perform and complete assignments given by your Manager with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Explore assigned technologies in depth, applying scientific and technical curiosity.
• Contribute to research projects that inform C Spire’s strategy and technology adoption.
• Communicate effectively across teams in both written and oral formats.
• Collaborate with other interns in the summer internship program.
• Be prepared to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced research environment.
• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings across academic research, standards bodies, and vendor sources to inform C Spire’s technology strategy.
• Research assignments may span 5G/6G wireless, fiber and network architecture, Wi‑Fi, quantum technologies, or telecom standards and regulatory developments, depending on project need.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Experience with technical projects in academic or industry settings.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with 5G/6G wireless, fiber network architecture, Wi‑Fi, quantum technologies, or telecom standards and regulatory processes is a plus.
