Job summary

C Spire seeks a proactive Accounting Intern for a Summer 2026 program at our Ridgeland, MS corporate office. You will support the Accounting and Finance teams, learn financial reporting processes, and contribute to daily operations in a fast-paced tech environment.

The internship offers hands-on experience, exposure to technology-driven finance, and a path toward a successful career in Accounting or Finance within our growing company.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Rising college junior, senior, or graduate student actively enrolled and in good standing at an accredited college or university.
• Minimum coursework for Accounting majors: Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Business Computer Systems, Accounting Systems I, Intermediate Accounting I.
• Minimum coursework for Finance majors: Principles of Financial Accounting, Principles of Managerial Accounting, Management Information Systems, Financial Systems, Intermediate Financial Management, Financial Markets.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Accounting and Finance departments through assigned projects and daily tasks.
• Perform and complete assignments given by your Manager with accuracy and timeliness.
• Assist with accounting functions such as reconciliations, reporting, and data entry.
• Participate in financial analysis and review of departmental processes.
• Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Communicate effectively with teams across departments.
• Collaborate with other interns on cross-functional projects.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

We will give special consideration to candidates who have:

• Prior internship or work experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
