Job summary

E Ink Corp. is seeking a Research Director to lead a new Copper Clad Laminate (CCL) R&D program. You will design, prototype, and optimize CCL materials while defining the technology roadmap and building a multidisciplinary team.

Strong background in polymer composites and physics is essential for high-impact product concepts. Direct, hands-on leadership will guide three initial reports and evolve the team as the program scales.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS with extensive R&D in polymer composites and CCL/PCB materials.
• Hands-on ownership of material-system architecture, prototypes, and tests.
• Ability to translate requirements into manufacturable, differentiated designs.
• Experience leading small technical teams and recruiting as programs grow.

Responsibilities

• Define overall composite architecture and material-system concept.
• Own hands-on CCL product design, prototype builds, and data interpretation.
• Lead design experiments, analyze results, and iteratively optimize.
• Translate needs into integrated design architecture with signal-loss focus.
• Define technology strategy, roadmap, and major technical decisions.
• Build and mentor a multidisciplinary team as the program expands.
