Under the general direction of a Research Data Supervisor II in the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Publications Program, the GIS Specialist I is part of an established team producing maps, data, figures, and reports in support of the California Geological Survey (CGS) mission.

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet Minimum Qualifications, the applicant will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. This position is located in Los Angeles, CA and is eligible for a hybrid telework schedule, with employees required to work in-person at 320 West 4th St., Suite 850 Los Angeles, CA. At least one day of remote work and up to four days of in-office work per week is the available hybrid telework schedule for this position. Alternative work locations will not be considered.
