Job summary

Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health seeks a Research Assistant to support the HAALSA study, focusing on data management and analyses of aging, cognition, and health in Africa.

You will work with a cross-border team, process datasets, and help with neuropsychological assessments and reporting. The role involves collaboration with South Africa and US collaborators, training responsibilities, and adherence to ethical standards.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience is required.
• Strong background in statistical software such as STATA, R, SAS.

Responsibilities

• Process and analyze data using STATA or similar software.
• Support tracking project fieldwork progress and timelines.
• Assist with study protocol training and data collection systems.
• Prepare training materials and organize study binders.
• Follow SOPs to ensure protocols are adhered to.
• Standardize data collection and reporting for quality control.
• Prepare datasets and codebooks for public release.
• Assist with scoring neuropsychological tests and creating summary measures.
• Coordinate translation of surveys and tools and oversee licensing for cognitive assessments.
• Support remote dementia diagnostic consensus meetings and prepare presentation materials.
• Draft materials for research papers and progress reports, with potential co-authorship.
• Collaborate with investigators and field teams in SA and the US.
