Job summary

The Health Policy and Management Department at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health is seeking a Health Research and Data Analyst to support a portfolio of multidisciplinary health policy and health services research projects.

The analyst will work with faculty across HPM and the Healthcare Quality and Outcomes Lab on data analysis, study design, manuscript development, and dissemination of findings, with opportunities for mentorship and professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in biostatistics, statistics, epidemiology, public health, applied mathematics, computer science, or closely related field, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
• Master's degree in Statistics/Biostatistics along with 2+ years of professional working experience
• Advanced skills/experience in statistical programming and data management
• Knowledge of statistical research methodology/principles
• Summarize/interpret complex analyses and strong deductive reasoning skills
• Experience maintaining detailed documentation of data management and programming work
• Knowledge of SUDAAN and UNIX
• Comfortable working with multiple PIs and multiple projects at the same time

Responsibilities

• Organizes, maintains and manages data used in large research studies from multiple sources
• Designs analytical databases and maintaining the integrity of the databases, including merging of multiple data sets and data manipulation to perform statistical analysis
• Oversees large data sets involving multiple years of data
• Interaction with remote consultants or team members
• Provides statistical analyses for multiple projects including multiple logistic and linear regression, longitudinal analysis, hierarchical models, and survey analysis
• Development of scientific reports and presentations
• Gives guidance to, and collaborates with faculties and statisticians on analytical objectives
• Other duties as assigned
