Job summary

The University of Maine in Orono seeks a Research Data Security Analyst within the Office of Research Compliance to provide programmatic leadership and technical expertise for securing research data across the university.

You will oversee the development and continuous improvement of data security procedures, guidance, and infrastructure, working with IT and research units to protect CUI, PHI, PII, and related data, and manage DUAs and Data Security Plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Info Science/Cybersecurity or related field.
• At least three years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to obtain CISSP/CISA/CISM/GIAC within three years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate securing research data across UMaine and related units.
• Develop, implement and continuously improve research-specific data security procedures and infrastructure.
• Oversee review and compliance tracking of Data Use Agreements and Data Security Plans (DUAs).
• Evaluate data security requirements in research contracts and technology reviews; recommend compliant solutions.
