Job Description Summary | Position: The Auburn University RFID Laboratory, affiliated with multiple colleges on campus, invites applications for the Research & Compliance Program Engineer. This position is a 12-month non-tenure track position. About the RFID Lab: The Auburn University RFID Lab is a proven leader in RFID research and technology application. The Lab collaborates with partners to develop specialized technologies designed to enhance RFID and serialized identification sensor capabilities and improve data capture systems in various technology fields, and researches and promotes the business case and value of adoption in food operations and supply chain. The RFID Lab includes a simulated factory, warehouse, distribution center, retail, aviation, and food formats - including mall apparel and high-end fashion boutiques. The Lab is active in many research areas, including engineering, food safety, logistics, and using various wireless technologies to develop new solutions. The RFID Lab engages undergraduate and graduate students and faculty members to test technology, develop intellectual property, obtain patents, and potentially generate growth in the RFID market with new companies and products. Responsibilities: The primary function of the position is to support the programmatic and research operations and research projects within the field program of the RFID Lab. The various program units within the Lab are engaged in the planning and performing analyses and tests required for research, development, and/or quality control including responsibilities such as: managing the design and planning of experiments, tests, and audit functions; managing lab testing systems and retention and presentation of lab data; ensuring lab testing and reporting consistencies are maintained with large research datasets; generating new research project concepts; and overseeing and participating in faculty and industry research projects. Minimum Qualifications | Qualifications: Candidates must have a master's degree in engineering when employment begins. Additionally, candidates must have at least 1 year of experience designing, analyzing, and reporting RFID data.
