Job summary

The University of Kansas ATLAS center seeks a Research Associate to advance learning maps-based educational solutions. You will help develop cognitive learning map models representing students’ knowledge, plan and implement research studies, and disseminate findings across academic and practitioner audiences.

The role requires strong collaborative skills, rigorous qualitative and mixed-methods expertise, and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

• PhD in education or related field, or a Master’s with 3+ years of research experience.
• 1 year of academic or professional experience researching education.
• 2 years of instruction/research/assessments for diverse learners.
• 1 year leading K-12 educational research studies.
• 1 year managing projects or published work products.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for scholarly and practitioner audiences.

Responsibilities

• Support design, planning, and implementation of learning map projects.
• Conduct syntheses in K-12 education; review literature and prepare reports.
• Lead design, planning, and implementation of research studies and deliverables.
• Collaborate across teams to develop accessible map-based educational materials.
• Contribute to developing proposals for funded research and present findings to audiences.
• Lead project coordination and use collaborative project management tools.
• Other duties/special projects as needed.
