Job summary

The Research Associate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering within the Molinaroli College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina will support research focused on developing novel therapeutic platforms for traumatic brain injury. The role includes conducting live mouse studies, processing tissues, and performing histological and biochemical analyses.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing nanomaterials-based drug delivery systems.
• Handling mice in biomedical research and processing tissues.
• Proficiency with immunofluorescence microscopy, qPCR, immunoblotting, flow cytometry and ELISA.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate, organized records.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills.

Responsibilities

• Support research focused on novel therapeutic platforms for traumatic brain injury.
• Conduct live mouse studies and tissue processing per approved protocols.
• Prepare protocols, reports, manuscripts and grant proposals; mentor students and staff.
