Job summary

The Ohio State University’s College of Engineering, Center for Automotive Research (CAR), seeks a Research Associate 2 – Engineer to conduct research in connected and automated vehicles and related sensing and testing technologies. The role collaborates with faculty, staff, researchers, students, and industry partners to design experiments and analyze results.

• Conduct research in the experimental areas of connected and automated vehicles and automated driving systems.
• Apply advanced sensing, V2X, vehicle localization, hardware-in-the-loop, and in-vehicle testing tech.
• Extract and analyze experimental results and prepare technical reports for sponsors.
• Prepare and present papers; assist in proposals, budgets, and timelines; support teaching activities.

Research Associate 2 – Engineer in the College of Engineering (COE), Center for Automotive Research (CAR) who conducts research in the experimental areas of connected and automated vehicles and automated driving systems, as well as applying new and emerging technologies enabled by advanced sensing, V2X, vehicle localization, hardware in the loop and in-vehicle testing technologies; works with CAR faculty, staff, researchers, students and industry partners to develop and carryout research experiments and support sponsored research; extracts and analyzes experimental research results and prepares technical reports for sponsors reviews; prepares and presents papers/reports; writes, edits and/or approves progress and technical reports for sponsors; edits research results for publication and presentation; assists in identifying, writing and preparing proposals to pursue new funding opportunities; develops task lists, time lines, and budgets for research projects; attends relevant internal and external research meetings; supports teaching and training in electrified vehicle technologies.

The target hiring range for this job profile is $70,100- $91,600. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
