Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC is seeking an Automotive Research & Requirements Technician to support engineering groups on-site in Minnesota. In this entry-level role, you will collect and organize technical requirements for ADAS, EV battery systems, and connected vehicle frameworks, turning research findings into clear specifications.

Under guidance from senior team members, you will learn engineering practices while assisting with documentation and data gathering.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/Equivalent required. We welcome candidates with vocational training, high school diplomas, technical certifications, or other related experience.
• Target Experience: 0-2 years of experience in technical coordination, administrative, writing, or support role.
• Automotive Diagnostics Knowledge: Practical or theoretical understanding of vehicle diagnostic procedures, scan tool operation, or hands-on automotive repair and maintenance experience.
• Computer Literacy: Proficiency in standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and a willingness to learn technical database software.
• Conceptual Awareness: Basic familiarity with how vehicles or electronic devices operate.

Responsibilities

• Support Gathering Processes: Using various sources such as purchased OEM license data, online service information, technician repair information, and OEM sales data, you will assist in identification of new vehicles and technologies.
• Customer Technical Support: Help prepare requirements for current and future development targets based on function and vehicle priorities.
• Engineering Support: Assist the team by providing detailed information gathering from on-vehicle research completed with various tools and equipment.
• Documentation: Provide detailed documentation of the above targets in easy to digest formats to support the engineering development team.F

The Automotive Research & Requirements Technician supports engineering development groups with early-stage automotive research. In this entry-level role, you will assist in the collection, organization and structuring of technical requirements for next-generation vehicle systems: including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), electric vehicle (EV) battery systems, and connected vehicle frameworks. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will learn and apply engineering practices, helping to transform research findings and customer concepts into clear, consistent, and traceable technical specifications

• Type: Temp to Hire
• Fully On-site
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
• Wage: $26 -$28/HR
