Job summary

Colorado State University in Fort Collins is seeking a team member to work with sheep in the Winger Lab within the Animal Reproduction and Biotechnology Laboratory. Responsibilities include estrous detection, mating, and both pre- and post-surgical care, with some evenings and weekends required.

The role may expand to include laboratory research opportunities. A background in handling large animals is essential, with a preference for a Biomedical Sciences degree.

Qualifications

• Experience handling or working with sheep, or equivalent large animal experience on a farm or research environment.
• Bachelor's in Biomedical Sciences or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Handle sheep and perform estrous detection, mating, pre-surgical preparation and post-surgical monitoring.
• Evening and weekend duties are required on occasion.
• There may be an opportunity to expand responsibilities to include laboratory research.
