Job summary

Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Biomedical Sciences Department. You will work on projects investigating vascular dysfunction in diabetes, aging, atherosclerosis, and cognitive decline using mouse models, PCR, and molecular assays.

The role involves maintaining colonies, conducting experiments, and assisting with data analysis while adhering to safety and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Physiology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of research experience in a laboratory setting.
• Experience working with mouse models including animal handling, breeding, colony management, and genotyping.
• Proficiency in PCR-based techniques and basic molecular biology methods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mouse colonies and perform genotyping.
• Conduct molecular biology experiments, including PCR and related assays.
• Assist with animal harvests, tissue collection, processing, and analyses.
• Maintain accurate experimental records and assist with data analysis.
• Support ongoing research projects and contribute to laboratory operations.
