We are seeking a research assistant to be shared in their efforts to support neuroscience/neuromuscular disease research at the institution. Job responsibilities include conducting and coordinating research, and assisting with zebrafish and mouse husbandry. Coordinating the research laboratory will necessitate organizing research projects, overseeing and training research students, and general laboratory maintenance. Experience in molecular biology techniques (microscopy, protein biochemistry, genotyping/PCR, etc.), cell culture, and animal work is preferred, but not required. Responsibilities regarding animal care and use in research requires working closely with members of the Laboratory Animal Resources (LAR) and other researchers to ensure the proper care and use of animals in research. The candidate must be able to multitask, be detail-oriented, and work well independently and in a team environment. The candidate will be evaluated by productivity in moving projects forward and by effectively working with the team.
Bachelor's degree in a life sciences field, such as biology or chemistry.
Starting Hourly Pay: $21.00
The referenced salary range is based on PCOM good faith belief at the time of posting.
