Work Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)

Shift: Shift 1

Work Schedule: 8 Hr (7:00:00 AM - 3:00:00 PM)

Pay Range: $17.63 - $24.91 per hour

Job Summary

The Research Assistant is responsible for collecting information according to research study protocols, conducting assessments, collecting data and biological samples, and assisting in report and publication writing. The individual exemplifies Rush's mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma/GED
  • Entry-level proficiency in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and databases
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to develop rapport with diverse research participants
  • Ability to handle sensitive topics confidentially
  • Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams
  • Potential 6-8 weeks training depending on study protocols
  • Availability to work evenings, overnight, and weekends if required
  • Possession of personal transportation may be necessary
Responsibilities
  • Recruit, screen, and schedule research participants
  • Create assessments following research protocols
  • Assist in grant proposal writing
  • Communicate with researchers and research community members
  • Conduct experiments and explain study goals to participants
  • Follow-up via phone and email with research colleagues
  • Participate in preparing and delivering presentations
  • Analyze data and draft reports, manuscripts, and presentations
  • Follow approved procedures
  • Administer tests and maintain documentation
  • Prepare study materials and assist with data entry and analysis
  • Monitor experiments and maintain supply inventory
  • Use study-related devices and maintain records
  • Attend team meetings and troubleshoot issues
