Job Description:The Research Assistant will contribute to health services research projects focused on evaluating healthcare systems, policies, and interventions. The individual will support research activities through data management, analysis, literature synthesis, drafting manuscripts and reports, and assisting with grant writing.
Data Collection:
- Conduct data collection activities such as administering surveys, conducting interviews, and extracting data from clinical or administrative databases.
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and confidentiality according to institutional and regulatory standards.
Data Analysis:
- Analyze quantitative and/or qualitative data using statistical software (e.g., SPSS , Excel).
- Identify trends, summarize findings, and prepare data presentations and reports.
Research and Writing Support:
- Conduct comprehensive literature searches and systematic reviews.
- Summarize existing research and integrate findings into project reports, manuscripts, and grant applications.
- Draft and edit research documents, including abstracts, manuscripts, conference posters, and grant materials.
Research Operations:
- Assist with research design, methodology development, and project planning.
- Maintain organized project documentation, records, and databases.
- Support the preparation of Institutional Review Board ( IRB ) applications and regulatory documents.
Administrative Support:
- Assist with scheduling and coordination of research team meetings and activities.
- Communicate effectively with principal investigators, collaborators, and external stakeholders.
- May supervise or mentor undergraduate student researchers.
Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Education
- Required: Bachelors Degree OR equivalent training acquired via work experience or education
- Preferred: Bachelors Degree

- Required: None
- Preferred: 1-2 years of previous job-related experience
Qualifications
Required:- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business, public health, social sciences, or related field.
- At least 6 months of part-time research experience (or equivalent).
Preferred:- Demonstrated knowledge of research methodologies, data collection, and analysis.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Academic and research writing skills, including experience drafting literature reviews, manuscripts, and/or grant proposals.
- Proficiency with data analysis software such as SPSS , Excel, or similar tools.
- Ability to conduct literature searches using academic databases (e.g., PubMed, Scopus).
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a research team.
- Familiarity with human subjects research protocols and ethical guidelines (e.g., IRB processes).
Certificates/Credentials/Licenses
- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business, public health, social sciences, or related field.
- At least 6 months of part-time research experience (or equivalent).
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with data analysis software such as SPSS , Excel, or similar tools.
- Ability to conduct literature searches using academic databases (e.g., PubMed, Scopus).
