Gragert Research, a background research firm based in Chicago, is seeking a research assistant for the 2025-2026 election cycle. GR specializes in political opposition research, corporate due diligence and litigation support. Research assistants work with other members of the GR staff to develop research reports.
Specific research assistant responsibilities include:
• Reviewing and summarizing press and online media
• Conducting legislative analyses
• Searching and analyzing campaign finance records and other regulatory filings
• Reviewing and analyzing public government and court records
• Other tasks as assigned by the research director
Successful candidates should possess:
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Interest in politics
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office
The work is conducted remotely, but Chicago, Illinois- or Salt Lake City, Utah-based residence is preferred due to the opportunities for in-person meetings with management and colleagues in those cities. The job requires a commitment of at least 35 hours per week and pay is $25 to $30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
