Job summary

Boston University’s Animal Science Center on the Charles River Campus in Boston seeks an Administrative/Support/Clerical role to perform daily animal care and related duties.

This union-represented, full-time position requires a High school diploma or GED, is scheduled Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours per week, and offers benefits including health insurance and tuition remission for employees and dependents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; prior experience preferred but not required.
• 40 hours per week; Tuesday to Saturday schedule.
• Union represented position; first week open to internal applicants under Local 2324.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily quality animal care for housed research animals (rats, mice, birds).
• Animal housing, census data collection, and related tasks.
• Follow biosafety levels ASBL-1/2 and chemical containment levels CCL-1/2/3.
• Maintain accurate records and demonstrate attention to detail.
• Communicate effectively with researchers, veterinary staff, and co-workers.
