Modis is seeking a ( R&D Engineer Sr) with a client in Plymouth, MN 55442 for 12 months contract.

Location: Plymouth, MN 55442

Duration: 12-month Contract

Pay Rate: $50/hr- $54/hr (The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.)

Position Overview

Seeking a motivated and analytical Systems Engineer to join its newly established Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) Systems Engineering team in Plymouth, MN. This role will support new product development initiatives focused on LAAO implants and delivery systems.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on systems engineering experience in a regulated medical-device environment, with expertise in requirements development, experimental design, statistical data analysis, and cross-functional technical execution. The engineer will translate clinical insights, physician feedback, user needs, and engineering data into measurable system requirements and technical recommendations.

This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, contribute to product development decisions, and support research for next-generation medical-device technologies.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
Experience in the medical-device or pharmaceutical industry.
Hands-on systems engineering experience within a regulated product development environment.
Intermediate-level experience in requirements development and systems engineering.
Experience translating user needs, clinical feedback, and engineering data into system and subsystem requirements.
Experience designing experiments, collecting data, and performing statistical analysis using Minitab, JMP, or similar tools.
