Job summary

Wiley is hiring a part-time Research and Data Analyst to advance STEM education research through zyBooks, evaluating AI-driven student support and learning outcomes.

You will publish findings, collaborate with instructors and engineers, and contribute to content and platform improvements through data analysis and reports.

Qualifications

• PhD in STEM education fields required.
• Strong background in qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed-methods research.
• Proven publication record in research papers.
• Strong understanding of STEM education pedagogies.
• Experience with SQL and data analysis/visualization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; highly organized.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct studies to evaluate student efficacy with AI tools.
• Lead and conduct research on student learning using zyBooks across disciplines (CS, IT, Data Science, Engineering, AI, Math and Stats).
• Publish research results at high-quality conferences and journals to disseminate findings to the STEM education community.
• Use data analytics to assist with the continual improvement of zyBooks' content and platform by assessing effectiveness in achieving learning outcomes and reducing unnecessary student struggle.
• Collaborate with instructors in designing, conducting, and publishing research studies.
• Collaborate with authors, engineers, and instructors to conduct studies for new and existing products or significant platform features.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop early POCs for new tools that improve student learning.
• Create and maintain appropriate documentation and quarterly research reports.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in STEM education fields.
• Strong background in qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed-methods research.
• Demonstrated record of research papers.
• Strong understanding of pedagogies relevant to STEM education.
• SQL experience.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to innovation in teaching at the undergraduate levels.
• Highly motivated and organized.

Preferred Qualifications

• PhD in CS or CS education.
• Experience with AI is strongly preferred.
• Teaching experience strongly preferred.

Salary Range

Salary Range: 42.84 USD to 61.39 USD #LI-MS1
