Job summary

Wiley, through zyBooks, seeks a part-time Research and Data Analyst to lead research efforts in STEM education and study student efficacy with AI tools. You will analyze learning using zyBooks across CS, IT, Data Science, Engineering, AI, Math and Stats and publish results to the STEM education community.

You will collaborate with instructors, authors, engineers, and educators to improve content and platform, create documentation, and produce quarterly research reports.

Qualifications

• PhD in STEM education fields.
• Strong background in qualitative, quantitative, and/or mixed-methods research.
• Demonstrated record of research papers.
• Strong understanding of pedagogies relevant to STEM education.
• SQL experience.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to innovation in teaching at the undergraduate levels.
• Highly motivated and organized.
• PhD in CS or CS education (preferred).
• Experience with AI is strongly preferred.
• Teaching experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct studies to evaluate student efficacy with AI tools.
• Lead and conduct research on student learning using zyBooks across disciplines (Computer Science, IT, Data Science, Engineering, AI, Math and Stats).
• Publish research results at high-quality conferences and journals to disseminate findings to the STEM education community.
• Use data analytics to assist with the continual improvement of zyBooks' content and platform by assessing effectiveness in achieving learning outcomes and reducing unnecessary student struggle.
• Collaborate with instructors in designing, conducting, and publishing research studies.
• Collaborate with authors, engineers, and instructors to conduct studies for new and existing products or significant platform features.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop early POCs for new tools that improve student learning.
• Create and maintain appropriate documentation and quarterly research reports.]
