Job summary

Universal Health Services seeks a Research and Correspondence Clerk for the Atlantic Region Central Billing Office. The role provides clerical support to the business office and interfaces with hospitals, patients, insurers and outside parties.

Key duties include processing returned mail via Accurint, managing the returned mail worklist, identifying root causes, filing per retention policies, and handling patient demographics forms, 0 remits, insurance denials and related correspondence using

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in healthcare or business office is preferred (1–3 years).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and oral communication, attention to detail, and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Process and sort returned mail using Accurint.
  • Maintain and work the returned mail queue.
  • Identify root causes for returned mail and resolve issues.
  • Handle patient demographics, 0 remits, insurance denials, and related correspondence in systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Atlantic Region Central Billing Office (“ARCBO”) or (“CBO”) provides business office services including billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance, and customer service to our affiliated Universal Health Services hospitals.

Atlantic Region CBO is seeking a dynamic and talented Research and Correspondence Clerk.

The Research and Correspondence Clerk is responsible for providing clerical support to the business office. This position must work effectively with other employees, patients, insurance companies and other outside parties.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Sorts and updates returned mail via Accurint
  • Responsible for working Returned Mail worklist
  • Root causes and attemptes to resolved Returned Mail issues
  • Files as required by retention policies
  • Responsible for working patient demographics forms, 0 remits, insurance denials, and correspondence using various computer systems
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years healthcare experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Customer focused both internally and externally, strong attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, strong 10 key data entry, and excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Familiarity with pre-registration and 1-3 years healthcare business office experience preferred.
