Position Summary
Roosevelt University’s office of Institutional Research seeks a talented Research Analyst.
This is a full-time, exempt position located on the Chicago campus. This position reports to the Assistant Provost for Institutional Research, Assessment and Accreditation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- A minimum of 2 years experience working in data collection and analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and compile large data sets and organize data into coherent tables/charts and/or spreadsheets for review and analysis.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills; demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships.
- Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- A positive and professional demeanor is a must.
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications
- A Masters degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of Banner ERP is a plus.
- Knowledge of SQL , SPSS and basic statistics is a plus.
- Previous experience in Higher Education.

Basic office equipment (desktop computer, copier/ multi-function device, fax and telephone).
Working Conditions
Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds of weight or pressure). Regular use of desktop computer is required, calling for frequent hand/wrist movement and repetition. Moderate level of stress. Occasional travel within the local or regional setting may be required.
Essential Job Functions
Duty and Responsibility
- Provides reports, analyses, and studies ranging from student surveys to annual reports to government agencies i.e. IPEDS .
- Participates in data collection and compilation for Student and Academic profiles.
- Coordinates data submission to college guides.
- Drafts narratives for survey reports.
- Responsible for Data extraction from Argos, Blackboard Analytics and other internal systems.

- Participation in regional conferences as appropriate.
- Under the direction of the Associate Provost, supports ad hoc projects as requested by Deans, Office of the Provost and Department Chairs.

- Administers annual surveys i.e Student Satisfaction, Student Engagement etc. Coordinates logistics alongside internal divisions as appropriate to reach desired participants.
