Job summary

Guidehouse is seeking a Research Analyst III to support research and development activities for a federal client. This role focuses on microbiological and chemical contaminants, including laboratory analysis, method development, validation, data analysis, and technical documentation.

You will perform laboratory and field-based research, collect and prepare samples, conduct analyses (including molecular detection and pathogen identification), and document results.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in biology or related field with 3+ years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with 6+ years.
• Experience conducting laboratory testing and analysis.
• Ability to document laboratory activities, analyze data, and support technical reports.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
• Candidates with active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.

Guidehouse is seeking a Research Analyst III to support research and development activities for a federal client. This role will support research involving microbiological and chemical contaminants, including laboratory analysis, method development and validation, data analysis, and technical documentation.

What You Will Do:

• Support research and development activities, including laboratory and field-based research.
• Collect, prepare, process, and analyze samples.
• Conduct laboratory testing and analyses, including molecular detection and/or characterization of viruses and other microorganisms.
• Develop, optimize, and/or validate methods for the identification of pathogens.
• Document laboratory analyses, procedures, results, and observations.
• Prepare project reports and manuscripts for publication.

What You Will Need:

• Master’s degree in biology or a related field, such as biological science, microbiology, molecular biology, or biomedical sciences with Minimum THREE (3)+ years of experience OR bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field, such as biological science, microbiology, molecular biology, or biomedical sciences with Minimum SIX (6)+ years of experience
• Experience conducting laboratory testing and analysis.
• Ability to document laboratory activities, analyze data, and support development of technical reports.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust.
• Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
• Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.

What Would Be Nice To Have:

• Experience analyzing food and environmental samples for extraction and detection of viral pathogens.
• Experience using real-time PCR instrumentation.
• Experience extracting RNA/DNA from samples.
• Experience performing molecular analyses.
• Experience applying aseptic techniques when performing molecular-based methods.
• FDA experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
