Guidehouse is seeking a Research Analyst III to support federal client research, including microbiological and chemical contaminant analysis. The role involves laboratory work, sample handling, method development and data interpretation, with emphasis on molecular detection of viruses and microorganisms.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s in biology (or related field) with significant experience and must obtain/maintain a Public Trust.

Qualifications

• Experience conducting laboratory testing and analysis.
• Ability to document laboratory activities and support technical reports.

This role will support research involving microbiological and chemical contaminants, including laboratory analysis, method development and validation, data analysis, and technical documentation.What You Will Do:Support research and development activities, including laboratory and field-based research.Collect, prepare, process, and analyze samples.Conduct laboratory testing and analyses, including molecular detection and/or characterization of viruses and other microorganisms.Develop, optimize, and/or validate methods for the identification of pathogens.Document laboratory analyses, procedures, results, and observations.Prepare project reports and manuscripts for publication.What You Will Need:Master’s degree in biology or a related field, such as biological science, microbiology, molecular biology, or biomedical sciences with Minimum THREE (3)+ years of experience OR bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field, such as biological science, microbiology, molecular biology, or biomedical sciences with Minimum SIX (6)+ years of experienceExperience conducting laboratory testing and analysis.Ability to document laboratory activities, analyze data, and support development of technical reports.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust. Candidates must receive approved adjudication of their Public Trust prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active Public Trust or existing suitability are preferred.What Would Be Nice To Have:Experience analyzing food and environmental samples for extraction and detection of viral pathogens.Experience using real-time PCR instrumentation.Experience extracting RNA/DNA from samples.Experience performing molecular analyses.Experience applying aseptic techniques when performing molecular-based methods.FDA experience.The annual salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$141,000.00.
