Job summary

University of California - Los Angeles Health seeks a grants administrator to lead the preparation and submission of research proposals for department PIs. You will ensure regulatory compliance, accuracy, and on-time delivery across intra- and extramural funding streams.

The role requires 1–3 years of related experience, strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, plus proficiency in Adobe and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of Financial, clerical or administrative experience.
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, external collaborators, and administration and to work as a member of a team.
  • Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent interruptions, to meet the programmatic and financial needs of PIs and the department, while complying with university and funding agency policies and regulations.
  • Analytical skills to assess financial information, define problems, formulate logical solutions, develop alternative solutions, make recommendations, and initiate corrective actions
  • Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively as well as independently balance the various tasks to ensure deadlines are met
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel, to perform daily tasks efficiently and accurately

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and submission of intra- and extramurally funded research proposals on behalf of the department's Principal Investigators (PIs).
  • Ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely execution of proposals.
  • Collaborate with PIs, department leadership, and administration to manage research administration processes.

Description

Under the general guidance of the Department Chair, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and department supervisor, this role serves as the primary point of contact for all pre- and post-award research administration. You will lead the development and submission of intra- and extramurally funded research proposals on behalf of the department's Principal Investigators (PIs), ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely execution.

Salary: $36.99 - $56.35 hourly

Preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/administration or experience equivalent
  • 1-2 years of Research Administration experience
