Job summary

North Carolina State University seeks a Sponsored Research Administrator to manage pre- and post-award activities for a high-volume research portfolio in Raleigh. You'll collaborate with PIs, review RFPs/FOAs, and ensure compliance with sponsor and institutional rules.

Responsibilities include budgeting, financial oversight, and system management across RED Proposal Development, eRA, and university platforms. A Bachelor’s degree and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Proven ability to work in a matrixed, shared-services, or centrally managed/embedded model.
• Strong Excel skills for financial spreadsheets and data analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with cross-stakeholder diplomacy.
• Strong organizational skills to balance localized needs with central compliance.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Award: develop compliant proposal budgets with PI involvement and accurate justifications.
• Post-Award: monitor spend, CAS/UCG compliance, and budget translation.
• Model alignment: collaborate across College ORA network and departmental workflows.
• Other duties as assigned in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
