NC State University seeks a Research Operations Coordinator to serve as the central administrative, financial, and operational lead for a major research group. You will bridge pre-award support, post-award budgeting, sponsor reporting, and billing with laboratory operations, procurement, travel logistics, and building liaison duties.

In this role you will collaborate with PIs, College Research Administration, and external partners to ensure compliant, efficient research administration and robust

Qualifications

• Understanding of pre- and post-award processes and sponsor guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Oversee post-award financial oversight and monitor active project budgets across a multi-million-dollar grant portfolio.
• Assist PIs with pre-award proposal development, manage RED records and draft non-technical sections.
• Coordinate sponsor reporting and data for quarterly/annual progress reports and subcontractor reports.
• Process financial transactions (Vouchers, JVs, IDTs, P-Card reconciliations, travel reimbursements) per guidelines.
• Draft and maintain Laboratory Use Agreements; manage labs’ scheduling and billing.
• Plan travel logistics and maintain group calendars; onboard new research staff and students.
• Act as a local expert on sponsor policies and resolve complex administrative issues.
