The Research Administration Coordinator will provide administrativesupport to IBG faculty, graduate students and staff to advancesponsored research activities. The Institute for Behavioral Genetics (IBG) is an organizedresearch unit of the University of Colorado Graduate Schooldedicated to conducting and facilitating research on the geneticand environmental bases of individual differences in behavior.Founded in 1967, IBG is one of the top research facilities in theworld for genetic research on human behavior. Current researchincludes both laboratory and population-based studies of aging,neurodegenerative disease, psychopathology, reading and learningdisabilities, cognition, substance abuse, behavioral development,and evolution.
Annual Statistical Genetics Workshop Coordinator: Coordinateregistration of workshop faculty and attendees. Assist workshopfaculty with travel arrangements and post-workshop travelreimbursements. Coordinate workshop hotel details including roominglists, catering needs, technical services and receptions. Processhonorarium payments to workshop faculty and tutors.
Travel Coordinator: Assist IBG faculty, students, and staffwith travel planning and approvals for domestic and internationaltravel. Provide guidance on University and IBG travel policies,including the allowability of travel expenses on federal grants.Prepare and submit travel reimbursements and reports on behalf oftravelers in accordance with Purchasing Service Center timelinesand requirements.
Administrative Support to the Director: Schedule in-personfaculty meetings and virtual research collaboration meetings. Takemeeting notes and organize OneDrive files for shared use. Assistwith prioritizing and tracking tasks through completion.
Laboratory and Capital Equipment Coordinator: Coordinateroutine operational and facilities-related tasks for the IBGlaboratories, including scheduling biosafety certifications,arranging water purifier tank replacements, conducting weeklysafety compliance inspections, monitoring CO₂ and LN₂ systems,serving as a point of contact for movers and service providers, andsubmitting work orders for building maintenance issues. Manages thecapital asset inventory by tracking equipment in the Universitydatabase, ensuring asset tags are properly placed and recorded, andresponding to periodic audits from Property Services.
Purchasing and Procurement Specialist: Purchase conferenceregistrations, memberships, supplies, software, and other goods andservices in compliance with federal grant, University, and IBGpolicies. Serve as a procurement card delegate for faculty andstaff by preparing and submitting expense reports in accordancewith Purchasing Service Center requirements and timelines.
Other administrative projects and duties as assigned:Provide administrative support for IBG events, coordinate eventlogistics, and contribute to special projects and other assignmentsas needed to support Institute operations.
The annual hiring range for this position is $58,200-$65,000.
