Job Summary
The Colorado Law School welcomes applications for a FacultyCoordinator! This position provides high-level technical,financial, and administrative support to both permanent and adjunctfaculty. This role manages a wide range of tasks, includingacademic proofreading, manuscript submissions, exam administration,and course management. The coordinator also oversees facultydevelopment budgets, handles purchasing and reimbursements,develops and manages web pages, and establishes organizationalsystems to support faculty in achieving their scholarship,instructing, and service goals.
This fast-paced position requires strong interpersonal,communication, and executive support skills, with a commitment tocontinuous improvement. Operating with minimal supervision, thecoordinator plays a key role in advancing Colorado Law’s missionand maintaining its standard of excellence.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Law Faculty Scholarship and Teaching Support
- Online Course Development - Collaborate with faculty to developand create online course content. Digitize and transform existingacademic content into highly engaging material on the coursemanagement platform Canvas and other e-learning platforms. Assistwith updates, provide feedback, and troubleshoot technologicalissues. Manage course elements such as syllabi, announcements,class materials, assignments, quizzes, and student submissions. Actas a liaison between students and faculty.
- Course Administration - Manage course rosters, seatingassignments, attendance records, and the ordering and distributionof textbooks and course materials.
- Manuscript Support - Assist faculty in preparing scholarlymanuscripts for publication in both print and electronic media.Provide expert proofreading, content review, revision, andformatting of manuscripts, course materials, and exams, adhering toBluebook style for law journal articles or the Chicago Manual ofStyle for book publishing. Secure copyright permissions in supportof scholarship.
- Publication Management - Prepare and submit materials forpublication to academic law reviews and journals. Track and managepublication offers, rejections, and expedite requests. Assist indisseminating scholarly manuscripts in print and electronicform.
- RA and TA Hiring - Facilitate the hiring process for ResearchAssistants (RAs) and Teaching Assistants (TAs) by drafting positiondescriptions, creating job advertisements, and coordinating withthe Career Development Office (CDO) and Human Resources in postingpositions and scheduling interviews.
Law Faculty Technical and Administrative Support
- Website Management - Manage faculty web pages on the CU Lawwebsite using specialized software (Web Express, Access), includingupdating bios, photos, CVs, and publications on a regular basis.Develop and maintain web pages for faculty special projects.
- Orientation and Integration - Facilitate the onboarding processfor new law faculty members, ensuring their smooth integration intothe CU system.
- Recommendation Letter Preparation - Prepare and expediterecommendation letters on behalf of faculty for students via printand online platforms, such as OSCAR for the court system.
- Committee Support - Provide support of varying complexity forlaw faculty members' service on faculty committees and searchcommittees, if schedule permits.
- General Assistance - Provide comprehensive support in responseto a variety of requests from law faculty, addressing theireducational, research and scholarship needs.
Financial Management and Procurement
- Payments and Reimbursements - Process domestic andinternational payments and reimbursement requests for law facultyvia Concur and Marketplace systems.
- Procurement and Compliance - Complete procurement and financialpaperwork for payments to consultants and external affiliates,including non-employee reimbursements and honoraria. Collaboratewith the Director of Fiscal Operations & Compliance to ensurecompliance with university procurement policies.
- Travel Coordination - Coordinate individual and group travel,including pre- and post-travel procurement processes.
- Budget Management - Manage faculty development fund budgets,research assistant support, grants, and other funds available tofaculty. Make purchases to support faculty teaching, research, andscholarship needs. Ensure financial tasks are completed in a timelymanner to meet timelines.
Law School Program Support
- Program and Project Coordination - Provide administrativesupport for assigned programs, initiatives, and special projects.Coordinate meetings, communications, materials, and relatedlogistics.
- Faculty Projects and Pro Bono Support – Assist faculty withprogrammatic, research, and administrative needs related to specialprojects and pro bono activities.
- Website Content Management - Develop and maintain programwebpages in collaboration with faculty, directors, fellows, andother collaborators.
- Newsletter and Materials Management - Develop programnewsletters by coordinating with directors, faculty members, andfellows to produce and edit content. Create visual text and imagerydesign concepts using the app Canva and other software for printand electronic communications and publications.
Examination Management
- Examination Preparation - Manage pre-and post-examinationprocesses. Prepare midterm and final law exam content for facultyby providing high-level proofreading, editing, and content review.Develop and distribute instructions to students prior to theexam.
- Electronic Exam Administration - Create and program electronicexam documents into exam software. Maintain the exam trackingsystem and troubleshoot software issues. Generate answer andanalysis reports for faculty.
- Examination Administration - Coordinate and track examinationprocess, recommending modifications as necessary. Work with the LawSchool Registrar’s Office, Student Affairs, and the Law Library toensure smooth exam processes. Maintain confidentiality and ensuresecurity of exam administration.
- Grading Support - Assist faculty in exam grading by verifyinggrading calculations.
What You Should Know
This position has the ability to work in a hybrid work modality,with 3 days a week required to be in person during the academicyear, and 2 days a week required to be in person during the summer. The position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Fridayduring regular business hours.
What We Can Offer
The salary range for this position is $58,000 - $61,880annually.
