Vermont Precision Tools, Inc. is seeking a Made to Order Machine Operator to produce high-quality cylindrical plug and ring gages. This position includes a 3rd Shift schedule from Sunday to Thursday, with an hourly wage ranging from $18.00 to $32.05, dependent on experience.

Made to Order Machine Operator

VERMONT PRECISION TOOLS, INC. – Made to Order Value Stream.

Overview

A Machine Operator in the Made to Order Value Stream is responsible for producing high quality, precision cylindrical plug or ring gages for the gage industry. Operations include manual grinding, CNC grinding/lathes, heat treat and sand blasting processes.

Work Schedule

3rd Shift, Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 pm to 7:00 am. Shift differential 10% with overtime potentially required.

Compensation

Hourly wage range $18.00 – $32.05, starting wage negotiable based on prior knowledge and experience.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot manual grinding, CNC grinding/lathes, heat treat, and sand blasting processes.
• Produce products while maintaining daily production totals and monitoring part conformance based on blueprint specifications and work order instructions.
• Maintain diameters at very close tolerances and rework products that do not meet specifications.
• Perform basic data entry and program setup modifications as needed.
• Inspections using measuring equipment and maintain quality production in accordance with company standards.
• Assist with Chrome plating, heat treat equipment setup, and related procedures if required.
• Follow all company policies, ergonomic standards, and safety procedures.
• Perform other job duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with comparable knowledge and abilities.
• Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical functions, including fractions, decimals, metrics, conversions, geometry, and trigonometry.
• Mechanically inclined, preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to operate Windows and non-Windows formats.
• Professional and effective working relationship with co‑workers at all levels.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to complete tasks independently with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Additional Requirements
