Job summary

The Guidance Center Inc is seeking a Representative Payee Coordinator to oversee the Representative Payee Program for RSS clients. You will maintain and process financial records with accuracy, ensuring compliance with Social Security rules and agency policies.

You will manage account openings/closings, reconcile monthly statements, and support Rapid Pay Card operations, coordinating with Case Management Programs to ensure smooth payee management.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Business or Administrative.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and technology skills.
• Basic bookkeeping knowledge is preferred.

Job description

Job Overview: The Representative Payee Coordinator is responsible for the provision and oversight of Representative Payee Program delivered to individuals who receive services from Recovery and Support Programs (RSS). Possess and maintain a provision knowledge base of Policy and Procedures associated with Social Security Representative Payee Program, Identified Financial Institutions, and Rapid Pay Card Programs for a sound implementation of Representative Payee Services.

Responsibilities and Duties:

General Representative Payee

• Possess advanced Bookkeeping duties for the recording, review and processing of financial records.
• Adhere and maintain prescribed accounting regulations and policies set forth by the Agency, Social Security, and Financial Institutions.
• Calculate and prepare benefit income audit reports.
• Uphold the Representative Requirements set forth by Social Security.
• Prepare and maintain expenditure records, accounting data, correspondence, and audit and investigation reports for Representative Payee Accounts.
• Responsible for opening and closing accounts, along with completion of paperwork associated with Representative Payee Accounts.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements associated with Representative Payee Accounts.
• Will be familiar with various community support services and will coordinate with Guidance Center’s programs

Rapid Pay Card Program

• Responsible for the execution of the Rapid Pay Card Program associated with the Representative Payee Program.
• Compile a monthly totals sheet of all pay card transactions requested from the Case Management payee budget sheet to be placed on the payee card.
• Issue instant rapid payee cards to individuals through the identified Case management Programs in the event of a lost, stolen, or damaged Rapid Card.
• Train all newly hired Case Managers in MH/ID on Representative Payee requirements including Rapid Payee Card System.
• Receive via email from the Rapid Enrollment Specialist, individual monthly account balances. Compile month end balance report and distribute monthly to Case Management Program Directors at The Guidance Center for review.

Education and Experience:

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Business or Administrative;
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and technology skills
• Basic bookkeeping / accounting knowledge (preferred)
