Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking an HR Representative to handle HR documentation, records, onboarding, and basic payroll tasks. The role focuses on accurate filing, background checks, and maintaining confidentiality while supporting recruitment efforts and benefits explanations.

You will work Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with a comprehensive benefits package starting after 60 days and opportunities for professional growth within a nationwide distribution organization.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of HR or payroll experience.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English effectively for tasks and safety.

Responsibilities

• Process non-exempt HR information weekly, including changes, vacation requests, and corrections.
• Complete onboarding and new hire processes.
• Assist recruitment efforts, job fairs, etc.

The HR Representative creates HR related paperwork and maintains HR related files for documentation purposes. Maintains logs and records as appropriate. Conduct background checks and drug testing.

What you’ll do as an HR Representative:

• Processes non‑exempt HR information each week including change forms, vacation requests, and corrections.
• Completes all necessary on‑boarding and new hire processes.
• Assists team with recruitment efforts, job fairs, etc.
• Explains benefits, policies and procedures.
• Maintains files and records.
• Scans and indexes employment data.
• May also handle Time and Labor for Warehouse and/or Driver Payroll.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications you’ll bring as an HR Representative:

• HS Diploma or GED.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
• 2 or more years of experience in an HR or payroll role is required.
• This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job‑related tasks effectively and safely. This includes understanding work instructions, safety protocols, and communications essential to the role. The requirement is directly related to the nature of the job and ensures compliance with workplace safety and operational standards.
