Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a detail-oriented HR administrator to support grievance processing, unemployment processing, post-employment arrest workflows, and administration of collective bargaining agreements.

You will manage data, review documents for completeness and compliance, and coordinate scheduling and meetings for the team. The role also covers rehire eligibility, unemployment responses, and process-improvement initiatives within a union-influenced environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma/GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in Human Resources, preferably related to FMLA.
  • Experience in a union environment and exposure to collective bargaining agreements helpful.
  • Experience with Oracle a plus
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
  • Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
  • Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors the Employee Relations inbox, updating the Employee Association website, and the audit, reconciliation and processing of invoices.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to all customers and stakeholders; reviews and verifies incoming and outgoing documentation for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Performs a variety of administrative support duties for team leadership, including data management, word processing and scheduling/coordination of meetings.
  • Determines employee eligibility to be rehired for the District and processes all related requests based on District policy.
  • Coordinates the District’s response to all unemployment claims and works with managers, HR staff and vendors, as appropriate, to ensure accurate and timely communication to involved parties.
  • Participates in project/work group meetings and takes detailed notes; supports current projects and coordinates with the team to keep workflow on track.
  • Reviews collective bargaining agreement changes and ensures changes are accurately portrayed in final agreements.
  • Ensures employee inquiries are answered and/or properly routed in a timely manner.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as a backup for co-workers and/or other key business processes, as needed.
