Job summary

Madison Township Lumber & Supply Co in Matawan, NJ is seeking a well-spoken, energetic sales representative to assist professional contractors and retail customers.

You will engage with customers, understand their needs and provide expert advice on building material products, while processing orders by phone, email or fax. The role includes upselling, closing techniques, and supporting both inside and outside sales teams.

Qualifications

• Building materials experience required.
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Retail sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand needs and provide expert advice on building materials.
• Generate and process orders via phone, email, and fax.
• Perform effective upsell and add-on sales.
• Use strong closing techniques to complete sales.
• Support inside sales team and assist outside sales team.
• Assist with material estimates for projects.
• Ensure orders are accurate and properly processed.
• Develop ongoing relationships with customers and vendors.

• Effective upgrade selling and add-on sales
• Effective closing technique
• Support members of the inside sales team
• Assist and support outside sales team
• Assist with estimate materials needed for projects
• Ensure orders are accurate and processed properly
• Develop a continuous relationship with customers and our vendors

Requirements

• Building Material/Construction Experience a must
• Ability to thrive in high pace environments
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Excel and Word
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Experience in retail sales

• Hours: 7:30 am-4:00pm- no weekends
