Job summary

Homeward is a remote-first real estate startup building cash offers, mortgage and title services. We seek a Repairs Project Manager to own repair performance for an assigned portfolio, act as the construction SME, and drive cost-effective solutions with vendors.

You will collaborate with market teams, approved vendors and coordinators to move homes through repairs quickly, at the right quality and cost. This is a hands-on, decision-making role with broad ownership and impact.

Qualifications

• Residential construction or similar hands-on housing experience.
• Strong knowledge of repair scopes, materials, trades, and pricing.
• Ability to develop practical, cost-effective repair solutions.
• Experience negotiating bids with contractors and vendors.
• Good judgment and decision-making under tight timelines.
• Ability to manage multiple properties and priorities in a fast-moving environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; translate construction issues for non-construction partners.
• Comfort with remote/offshore partners and providing clear direction.

Responsibilities

• Own repair performance for an assigned pod from vacancy to Make Ready.
• Serve as construction SME for scoping, pricing, vendor questions, and escalations.
• Review scopes to ensure necessity and alignment with Homeward standards to deliver ROI.
• Negotiate vendor pricing, enforce pricing tables, seek competitive bids when appropriate.
• Make practical, time-sensitive field decisions so vendors can complete work efficiently.
• Lead Market Sale repairs with fast scoping, vendor coordination and decision-making.
• Coordinate emergency repair responses and vendor dispatch.
• Coordinate property insurance claims documentation through resolution.
• Manage vendors and hold them accountable to price, quality, and timelines.
• Partner with Property Coordinators for admin and workflow tasks.
• Review completed work and drive corrective actions for quality.
