Repair Technician Lead – Medical Equipment / DME
Pay:$25.00-$27.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm
Corner Home Medical (CHM) is seeking an experienced and motivated Repair Technician Lead to oversee repair operations for both patient-owned and company-owned durable medical equipment. Reporting to the Purchasing & Warehouse Area Manager, this role leads repair activities at the New Hope location while providing coordination and support to CHM distribution centers engaged in equipment repair operations. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical aptitude with leadership skills, a commitment to customer service, and a passion for driving continuous improvement. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, inventory accuracy, regulatory compliance, and positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Serve as a technical resource for troubleshooting oxygen equipment, lift chairs, mobility products, and other DME equipment.
- Prioritize customer-owned repairs using a first-in, first-out (FIFO) process and communicate repair estimates and approvals with customers.
- Manage the repair email queue, assign tasks appropriately, and ensure timely resolution of repair requests.
- Monitor, adjust, and maintain repair parts inventory levels while supporting min/max inventory controls across repair locations.
- Track equipment ownership and quality costs and make recommendations regarding product repair, replacement, or disposition.
- Record repair activity, maintenance history, and customer communications within company CRM systems.
- Coordinate the return and delivery of repaired customer-owned equipment with Distribution teams.
- Ensure proper product flow and disposition from intake through completed repairs and return to patients.
- Facilitate warranty claims, product return authorizations, and manufacturer return processes, particularly for oxygen equipment.
- Assist with facility maintenance activities as qualified and permitted by law.
- Lead process improvement initiatives within the repair department and warehouse operations.
- Assist in developing and maintaining repair training materials and verifying annual competencies for departmental team members.
- Partner with Warehouse leadership to plan workloads, prioritize tasks, and maintain department productivity.
- Participate in annual inventory activities and lead repair-related inventory audits and reconciliations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Participate in emergency response activities and specialty repair training as required.
- Promote CHM's commitment to excellent customer service, patient safety, and quality equipment management.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment.
- Leadership or team lead experience strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and advanced problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and phone etiquette skills.
- Proven ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills, including experience using CRM or inventory management systems.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and recommend solutions to operational challenges.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Must always prioritize patient and employee safety.
- Willingness to attend required company training, manufacturer certifications, and continuing education programs.
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe or composite-toe footwear.
