Transco Rail Services, part of Marmon Holdings, Inc., in Texarkana, AR, seeks a Repair Technician I (Welder) to perform basic repairs on rail car components. Read layouts, work orders, blueprints, and schematics while thriving in a TEAM environment with dependable attendance.

You’ll use pneumatic/hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes; pass a drug screen and physical; and contribute to safe, efficient repairs.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic repairs on metal or weldable materials according to layouts, work orders and schematics.
• Lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
• Pass drug screen and physical as part of employment requirements.
• Must be able to work in a TEAM environment with regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Repair parts of rail cars as directed by work orders and schematics.
• Operate pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, and cutting torches.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and report hazards.
• Collaborate with team to ensure timely, quality repairs.

You will repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels. **Job Requirements:** * Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.* Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.* Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.* The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.* The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.* The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.* Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.* Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.* Able to pass drug screen, physical. **What We Offer:** Transco strives to be the Employer of Choice.
