Transco Rail Services is seeking a Repair Technician to support by performing basic repairs on railcar components and metal parts. You will work from layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches in a TEAM environment, building strong relationships across levels.

The role requires use of pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, welders, forklifts, cranes, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. A commitment to safety, attendance, and physical capability is essential.

Qualifications

• Basic railcar repair skills and ability to follow layouts and blueprints.
• Willingness to learn air brake testing.
• Ability to work in TEAM environment and maintain regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic repairs on railcar components and metal parts per layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches.
• Repair a variety of rail car components while collaborating with team members at all levels.

You will repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches. You will be responsible for performing a variety of rail car repair related tasks and working in a TEAM environment, establishing good working relationships at all levels.Job Requirements:Use a variety of tools and equipment such as pneumatic and hydraulic tools, grinders, jacks, welders, cutting torches, forklifts, and cranes.Read specifications, shop drawings, schematics, and blueprints.Knowledgeable or willing to learn how to perform air brake test.The ability to work in adverse weather conditions.The ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials.The ability to lift 50 pounds with proper body mechanics.Ability to work within a teamwork environment with regular and predictable attendance.Keep materials area and other work areas clean and orderly and report potential hazards.Able to pass drug screen, physical.What We Offer:Transco strives to be the Employer of Choice.
