Job summary

New York Air Brake in Riverside, MO is hiring a Repair Technician 1 for 1st shift (6 AM–4:30 PM, Mon–Thu) with OT Fridays as needed. Pay is $17–$19/hr depending on experience and benefits start day one. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of related experience.

On-site role with standard shop environment and safety requirements. Responsibilities include disassembly, identifying serviceable parts, operating shop equipment, and adhering to all quality and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Technical capacity to understand and disassemble mechanical components.
• Good communication, organization, and time management skills.
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds with assistance and use measuring devices.

Responsibilities

• Basic disassembly and washing of freight or locomotive valves or brake pistons.
• Identify serviceable vs. non-serviceable parts.
• Operate semi-automatic equipment (pedestal buffers, hand buffers, wash machines, ultrasonic washers).
• Handle valves, parts, and tools safely.
• Proper use of power and manual tools (impact wrenches, drills, EZ Outs).
• Follow quality and safety rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Perform hazardous waste management duties as necessary; DOT requirements as applicable.
• Support Quality, Product Safety, and Health/Safety/Environmental policies.
• Adhere to relevant regulatory obligations and the Integrated Management System.
• Understand and support KPIs as defined in goals.
