Job summary

The Fountain Group is seeking a hands-on Repair Technician I to diagnose, repair, program, upgrade, and test two-way radio communication equipment in Lanham, MD. This onsite role focuses on RF/electronics troubleshooting, equipment testing, and precise documentation of repairs and test results.

Ideal candidates have an Associate Degree or equivalent experience, 1–3 years in related technical work, and familiarity with RF concepts, DVMs, service monitors, and watt meters. U.S. citizen required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of RF communications and two-way radio systems.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment.

• Proficient with Windows, Excel and Google Docs.

Repair Technician I – Lanham, MD

Location:

Lanham, MD – Onsite

Pay:

$22.67/hr

Duration:

6 months, possible extension or conversion

Schedule:

6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Position Overview:

Seeking a hands-on Repair Technician to troubleshoot, repair, program, upgrade, and test two-way radio communication equipment. This role involves RF/electronics troubleshooting, use of telecommunications test equipment, and detailed documentation of repair and testing activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot and repair two-way radios and electronic equipment
• Program and perform hardware upgrades on radio equipment
• Use DVMs, service monitors, watt meters, and other test equipment
• Perform operational testing and validate equipment performance
• Document repairs, test results, serial numbers, and equipment information
• Prepare equipment for final shipment while following quality procedures

Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
• 1–3 years of related technical experience
• Knowledge of RF communications, electronics theory, and two-way radio systems
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic equipment
• Experience using DVMs, service monitors, or watt meters
• Windows, Microsoft Excel, and Google Docs experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
• U.S. Citizen required
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Preferred:

Radio depot repair, cell phone/computer repair, networking, or technical diagnostic/programming experience.
