AMRO Music Stores Inc. in Memphis, TN is seeking a Repair Shop Administrator to be the primary contact at the Repair Shop window, connecting customers with the repair team and staff. You will manage intake, communication, approvals, payments, and staging of inventory to keep technicians focused at their benches.

The role requires handling inquiries, accurate instrument check-ins, and coordinating repairs with a focus on customer satisfaction in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of administrative/front-desk/customer service experience (retail/shop environment preferred).
• Familiarity with band/orchestra instruments and basic musical terminology is strongly preferred.
• Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills; able to handle difficult conversations with patience and tact.
• Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with computers, POS systems, customer messaging platforms, spreadsheets, and digital shipping tools.
• Ability to work a consistent weekly schedule that includes Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome walk-in customers at the repair counter, manage incoming calls, and respond promptly to web inquiries and texts.
• Check in customer instruments into tracking software and resolve data discrepancies such as serial number mismatches or maintenance coverage issues.
• Provide clear repair estimates and turnaround timelines to customers and directors.
• Run weekly audits of pending repairs and notify owners when work is completed.
• Process repair payments accurately.
• Prepare shipping labels and coordinate return logistics for completed instruments.
• Pull, stage, and organize rental and store fleet inventory needing service to keep technicians’ workflow steady.
• Answer general instrument care questions and escalate complex diagnostics to lead technicians as needed.
