Job description

About Pump Reliability Solutions

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Houston, Texas, Pump Reliability Solutions repairs and services rotating equipment for refining, chemical, power, and pipeline operators across North America. We're trusted by three of North America's largest refining companies and five of the ten largest U.S. pipeline operators, and we move faster than OEM repair timelines without cutting corners — because every hour of downtime costs our customers. We're more than a repair shop; we're a team of problem-solvers dedicated to keeping operations running.

The Role

We're looking for a Repair Coordinator to act as the liaison between the customer, sales, vendors, engineering, and production departments. You'll review customer requirements, determine the scope of repairs, and prepare detailed cost summaries and quotations for repair jobs in the service center. You'll coordinate repairs by issuing work instructions with all information needed to process the repair through the service center, in accordance with ISO requirements.

What You'll Do
  • Review customer requirements for pump repair
  • Analyze inspection results and work with shop personnel and the Area Superintendent to determine the scope of repair work required
  • Plan repairs, including labor hours, purchase requirements, work instructions, and total costGenerate repair quotes
  • Complete disassembly, inspection, repair, and assembly work instruction packages (work orders, prints, procedures, inspection forms)
  • Make and review sketches and drawings to ISO standards and in AutoCAD where required
  • Complete purchase requisitions; consult with vendors to determine availability, quality, quantity, and best pricing of materials for each job
  • Evaluate supplier quotations to determine acceptable quality, quantity, and pricing needed to meet customer commitments
  • Expedite parts and materials from suppliers, when necessary, to ensure delivery commitments are met
  • Prepare and facilitate inbound/outbound shipping tasks for the final transportation of repairs, including shipping, import, and export documentation as required
  • Manage projects to meet tender and order cycle time objectives for the service center
  • Communicate regularly with all departments to ensure compliance with customer commitments and the overall master schedule
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with ISO and OSHA requirements
  • Support and participate in PRS's company-wide LEAN and EHS management systems, including safety, health, and environmental policies and company-wide improvement initiatives
  • Perform root cause analysis on pump failures
  • Perform basic material selections for repair projects
  • Perform engineering calculations in accordance with industry and manufacturer standards
  • Take on other related responsibilities as requested
What We're Looking For
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems required; previous SAP experience strongly desired but not critical
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including diplomacy and negotiation skills
  • Solid knowledge of manufacturing and shop processes related to the repair of pumps and manufacturing of pump parts and/or closely related equipment
  • Strong PC skills, with proficiency in Microsoft software
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • Experience in closely related roles preferred
  • Technical knowledge of pump design and repair, and fit, form, and function of components, preferred
Schedule & Compensation
  • Pay: Based on Experience
  • Day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
  • Non-exempt position; overtime as needed
  • Full-time, in person at our Houston, TX facility
