DeVry Greenhouses is seeking a motivated Repair and Maintenance Assistant to join our MI Operations Team. The role involves maintaining all buildings and greenhouse facilities, diagnosing issues, and supporting repairs across electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

You will work closely with the maintenance and greenhouse staff, reporting to the MI General Manager, with a focus on safety and performance during peak production seasons.

Formación

• High school diploma; technician certifications preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience in maintenance, preferably in agricultural or horticultural settings.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with greenhouse operations and equipment.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with the Operations Team to ensure buildings and structures are well-maintained.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify issues before they rise.
• Support the team in identifying and fixing mechanical or electrical problems.
• Under supervision, replace faulty components to restore equipment functionality.
• Contribute to upkeep of facilities by fixing damaged areas including walls, floors, and fixtures.
• Organize maintenance tools and manage inventory to keep essentials in stock.
• Keep workspaces clean and adhere to safety protocols.
• Ensure all work complies with regulations and safety standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting electrical, plumbing, and other system issues to minimize downtime.
• Work with greenhouse staff to provide technical support as needed.
• Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs.

The Opportunity

Our team is looking for a motivated and organized Repair and Maintenance Assistant to join our MI Operations Team. These technicians play a crucial role in our company in ensuring that our locations are running smoothly and fixing problems as they rise. This role would include working with our maintenance team and greenhouse staff and reporting back to our MI General Manager.

• Help coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma. Technician certifications are preferred, but not mandatory

• Previous experience in maintenance, preferably in agricultural or horticultural settings.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.

• Familiarity with greenhouse operations and equipment.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks related to maintenance.

• Flexibility for extended hours during peak production seasons.
