Job summary

Nature Fresh Farms is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the Delta, OH facility in the Maintenance Department. The role involves troubleshooting, routine and preventative maintenance on greenhouse machinery, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment, with on-call duties and a 50–55 hour work week.

Qualifications

• I-3 years millwright, welding, tool and die and/or general farm maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience utilizing both manual and electrical tools.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and other types of reports, like manuals and drawings.
• Basic math abilities are required.
• Must have own set of tools.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to work 50–55-hour weeks and on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Check work orders on ConnectWise, prioritizing and updating them with guidance from the maintenance manager or admin assistant.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine repairs, general maintenance, and preventative maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Perform simple machinist duties as directed.
• Assist with diagnosing problems, replacing parts, testing, and making adjustments.
• Carry out plumbing maintenance and carpentry around the farm as required.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment.
• Detect faulty operations and report issues to the maintenance manager.
• Maintain safety and keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Assist the maintenance team and coordinate with senior tech or manager as needed.

We are currently looking to fill a full-time for a Maintenance Technician in our Maintenance Department at our Delta facility.

What You'll Do

Job Specific Duties:

• Checking work orders on ConnectWise, prioritizing their work orders with the assistance of the maintenance manager or maintenance admin assistant, and updating and closing them when completed.
• Basic troubleshooting and completing routine repairs, general maintenance, and preventative maintenance, such as: installation and maintenance of machines and equipment, emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment as well as scheduled maintenance repairs as directed.
• Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities, as directed.
• Assist with diagnosis of problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions around the farm as required.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties.
• Detect faulty operations and defective material and report those and any unusual issues to the maintenance manager.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
• Borrow and return tools/supplies that the farm provides.
• Ability to give direction to the maintenance assistant when needed, and the ability to guage when they need further direction from the senior tech or manager.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You Bring

• I-3 years millwright, welding, tool and die and/or general farm maintenance experience are preferred.
• Experience utilizing both manual and electrical tools.
• Ability to read and understand work orders and other types of reports, like manuals and drawings.
• Basic math abilities are required.
• Attention to detail and ability to analyze and reason problems.
• Some confidentiality regarding company-related matters
• Multi-tasking, time management and prioritizing are essential.
• Able to work independently but also a good team player.
• Expected to report to work from Monday-Saturday, with occasional Sundays.
• Able to work 50–55-hour work weeks.
• Must be able to work on an on-call schedule.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must be safety minded and have a commitment to following safety protocols.
• Safety shoes required.
• Must have their own set of tools.
• Travel from one location to the next or phase to phase may be required.

What To Expect

• The warehouses/greenhouses may be hot, humid, moist, or cold at any time of the year.
• Exposure to pests in the greenhouse
• Working at heights is a requirement for maintenance.
