Job summary

PLACE is seeking a Closing Coordinator to partner with leadership in REO Operations, ensuring timely closings and compliance across assets under contract in assigned states. The role focuses on expert handling of closing documents, cancellations, extensions, and proactive date management.

You'll read HUD-1 statements, deeds, and related documents, applying HOA and tax prorations. The environment rewards organization, calm under pressure, and strong communication with clients and agents.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3–5 years of relevant prior work experience (closing, title, escrow, REO/asset management, or related transaction coordination preferred)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the closing agent network and monitor assets under contract to ensure closing dates stay within client guidelines.
• Read and interpret closing and lender documents, including HUD-1 settlement statements and deeds.
• Process a high volume of contract cancellations and extensions.
• Monitor upcoming and delinquent closing dates to ensure timely closings.
• Apply HOA and property tax knowledge to review prorations on settlement statements.
• Address escalations from clients, closing agents, or staff professionally and in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with client-defined audit requirements for both internal and external audits.
• Participate in closing meetings with closing agents and firms, providing guidance on the closing process.
• Other duties as assigned
